Chelsea-Spurs Predictions Infographic

Tottenham come into this match in better form than us, having won 4 of their last 5 Premier League matches. Chelsea on the other hand have only been able to win 2 of our last 5, with two relegation-threatened sides in Crystal Palace and West Brom being the only fixtures that saw victory and the all important 3 points.

In our last league meeting back in August, the defending champions Chelsea managed to win 2-1 at Wembley Stadium, thanks to a brace from Marcos Alonso. Since then the two have been involved in a battle for a place in the top four and with it, a place in next season’s Champions League. Despite Tottenham having a 5 point advantage over Chelsea, it is the Blues who are the current favourites with football bets at 13/10.

A win for Chelsea would see them sit just 2 points off Spurs with 7 games to go, making us favourites. A Spurs win would surely kill off any hope of the Blues playing Champions League football next season. Failure to secure Champions League football could spell the end for Chelsea manager Antonio Conte who has already clashed with the board this season.

Tottenham will be without top scorer Harry Kane for the visit to Stamford Bridge, as he is currently recovering from ligament damage in his right ankle.

Spurs will also have a mental disadvantage, having never won at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League. The North London club have won 5 of the 51 Premier League matches between the pair, all of them occurring at home.

Chelsea meanwhile have won 27 matches, 16 of those being at Stamford Bridge, which should provide both Conte and the Chelsea players some confidence heading into the match.

There have been some similarities between the two clubs in the league this season as they have both been able to keep 14 clean sheets and have achieved their biggest league wins at home to Stoke City, where they both managed to score 5 against the Potters. Their biggest defeats also share some similarities, with Chelsea’s being a 4-1 away defeat to Watford and Spurs’ being a 4-1 away defeat, but to league leaders and likely champions Manchester City.

We have created the following infographic which looks at both clubs ahead of the match on 1st April, which could go some way to deciding who will finish in the top 4 this season.
