Celebrate non-league day

Why PL Fans Should Take Part In Non-League Day

By Chelsea NewsNo Comments

Non-league day is here and every Chelsea fan should try and take part.

The September international football break is excruciating, your club spunks all that money then you have to wait two weeks for them to play. The only bright spot is that it signals non-league football day.

Non-league day is the annual celebration and support of grassroots football.  To take part all you have to do is go and watch a local non-league football match.

IT is win-win. You get your football fix, drink beer and eat questionable burgers, whilst saving a fortune compared to going to a Chelsea game. You may even get a warm and fuzzy about helping your local club and community.

Ok, so you are unlikely to get the same quality of football at an Evo-Stick League game as at Stamford Bridge but your bank balance will be healthier and you will have helped a club that spends less on their entire annual budget than Diego Costa earns in a week.

Celebrating Non-League Day

Non-League football day is the anti-thesis of the billions wasted on transfer fees, ridiculous wages and agents fees that symbolise the things that we tolerate for the sport we love.

You can tick a new stadium off your list of those visited, you will be able to stand during the entire game without a steward hassling you, and the different sets of supporters often change ends at half-time.

It is football played for the love of it by normal people rather than overpaid ass hats. Where you are close enough to hear every tactical instruction by the manager, every thumping tackle and linesman heckle.

There are even the first round of FA Cup games of the season being played this weekend, which I think is kind of cool considering Chelsea enter in January and this is your chance to go to one.

Get involved and help your local community. Even if you are overseas why not join in the spirit. In the UK many clubs are running festivals and special events to celebrate as well.

If you are unsure where your nearest game is? Just visit the Non-League Day website and use the map functionality to find the nearest game to you.

David Luiz Chelsea transfer deadline day highlight

Chelsea Transfer Deadline Day Review – David Luiz

By TransfersNo Comments

Chelsea transfer deadline day dealings can be tough, especially when the squad needs new additions.

Last season’s transfer window,  we struggled to sign our targets and this was on my mind, particularly the crazy signings we made on deadline day last year. Would we repeat the mistake of wanting to sign the likes of John Stones but end up with a Papy Djiliboji. One of many signings that we end up buying but never threaten out first-team.

\sfter seeing us fail to sign our main targets this window my fears
(excluding Kante and Batshuayi) were realised and we were back to the
same spot we were last year, truthfully speaking going into deadline
day I didnt have much hope.

Chelsea Transfer Deadline Day Rituals

I did what we all do really on deadline day, by having my TV set on Sky Sports News and my phone constantly refreshing transfer blogs.

My cynicism towards Chelsea’s position in relation to the transfer window and deadline day were swiftly changed when rumors of David luiz making a sensational return began to look more and more likely. I literally could not contain my feelings of

I literally could not contain my feelings of relief and joy at the fact that Chelsea had made a signing that felt right. It felt like we signed a “Chelsea” player unlike the many we sign
who dont encapsulate what our club is about.

David Luiz The Prodigal Son?

Rarely do we ever sign someone who looks, acts and talks like he actually cares about the club.

Yes, he made and will still make mistakes that is not what we have signed. David Luiz adds
so much more to the club. His presence in the dressing room and around the club alone is a good thing. His impact on the pitch will not be a bad one just like it wasn’t a bad one during his first spell.

Yes, there were points at which he disappointed but those moments were outweighed
by his positive moments in a Chelsea shirt.

Those moments like his performance during the 2012 Champions league
should show anyone who doubts whether Luiz can return and make
a positive impact.

David Luiz is the reason Chelsea transfer deadline day dealings can be seen as positive, Luiz was not our only signing on deadline day but he was the highlight.

Left-back Marcos Alonso also signed, but we knew of his impending arrival before the day began. His signing was needed, but he has to prove himself before it can be deemed a success.

Thats why Luiz’ signing was so important, we re-signed someone
we know and someone we can trust to fight for the badge.

Chelsea Fans About David Luiz Right Now?

By TransfersOne Comment

Chelsea have re-signed David Luiz from Paris St Germain for around £30m leaving Chelsea fans ecstatic, confused, angry and hungry all at the same time.

Some may even be opening their minds to allowing their wives to have an extra marital affair. How do you feel about the return of Luiz?

Return of a cult Champions League winning legend? Or a waste of £30m on an inconsistent defender, who actually prefers midfield where we are fully stocked defensively?

David Luiz Transfer Latest – We Want Curly Hair Too!

By Chelsea News

Ina shocking turn of events last night it appears Chelsea could be about to re-sign Champions League winner David Luiz. This would represent a £30m outlay but £20m profit on the £50m PSG paid when they lost their senses.

We thought we had seen the last of Luiz who has had an up and down experience since leaving Chelsea. He may have won the French league twice, but with the disparity in wealth that is like Celtic winning a league without Rangers in it.

Transfer Latest?

We have no idea what the current situation is. Unfortunately, the club do not communicate with the FamousCFC.com blog so do not share their insights with us. They did follow us on Twitter briefly but I don’t think that counts (must have been something we said).

From what we can tell, things have developed during the day with the latest that the Brazilian is in London ahead of a deal that will need to be finalised before 11pm tonight.

Transfer deadline day throws up some crazy rumours but this one seems to have substance.

Do Chelsea fans want David Luiz & Curly Hair Too?

Given his erratic form there may be some that have misgivings about bringing him back, but at FamousCFC.com we want curly hair too!

Luiz has won the Champions League, FA Cup and Europa League for Chelsea and his happy go lucky with a touch of insanity approach has gained him many friends amongst Chelsea fans.

He even apologised when he celebrated beating Chelsea in the Champions League, the man can do a lot wrong on the pitch, but off it he should be celebrated.

Just in case you have forgotten the words we wrote them down.

OH DAVID LUIZ, YOU ARE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE

OH DAVID LUIZ I’D LET YOU S**G MY WIFE

OH DAVID LUIZ I WANT CURLY HAIR TOO

If you are still not convinced then how about this special moment?

Why Chelsea Need Cesc Fabregas

Why Chelsea Need Cesc Fabregas

By Chelsea AnalysisNo Comments

Despite a new system it is clear that Chelsea need Cesc Fabregas, even if he may no longer be part of Antonio Conte’s first choice XI.

Therefore it is reassuring that Fabregas has of his own volition rubbished reports that have surfaced linking him with a move away from the Bridge and the idea that Conte had told him he was not needed.

In a faster and physical Premier League Fabregas is a little bit of a luxury, but he offers something different that Chelsea will need over the course of a long season.

Why Chelsea Need Cesc Fabregas

The Premier League moves fast and teams quickly figure out sides that play the same way for an extended period of time. Chelsea need Cesc Fabregas to provide the tactical flexibility that will be vital over a 38 game season.

Fabregas may not start every game but he will start many, and even where he doesn’t from the bench he will have a significant role to play. He is still at the top of his game in that creative attacking midfield position.

His role will be to break down teams where two defensive midfielders shifting the ball to the flanks quickly will not work. We have already seen him provide the perfect pass for Diego Costa against Watford. Just three games in there are points won that can be directly attributed to his contribution.

Will Chelsea Need Cesc Fabregas Long Term

Whilst Fabregas states that he is happy and ready to fight for his place it will be interesting to see how the dust settles over the course of the season. How much game time he will get and how he will feel about a diminished role should that become the status quo.

For now though we will be happy to hear that Fabregas is going nowhere.

Chelsea goal celebration after WIllian scores against Burnley

Chelsea Defeat Burnley – Feeling Positive Ahead Of Intl Break

By Chelsea AnalysisNo Comments

This weekend saw Chelsea defeat Burnley and restore a feeling that has been missing from Stamford Bridge. The feeling of watching a fluid Chelsea defeat Burnley in such a comprehensive way, where the result was barely in doubt has been sorely missed.

Last season every home game felt like we were the underdogs no matter who we were playing. Chances were hard to come by and the opposition defences seemed to have got our attack figured out.

The balance seems to have changed again with the team moving the ball faster and creating more chances. There will be tougher challenges ahead but it is nice to see Chelsea winning the games they are expected to comfortably.

Normality Returns – Chelsea Beat Burnley

A 3-0 win was the perfect performance for a home game against a newly promoted side. Victory against Liverpool convinced some fans that Burnley would be a tough proposition but a near perfect performance quickly put paid to that.

There was an early goal to throttle the opposition game plan, then a 2nd before half time to create a comfort cushion. This allowed Chelsea to relax a little and use substitutions to rest key players. Despit this the chances just kept on coming.

The game was rounded with a late goal for Victor Moses who looks like he will have a role to play in his first full season at the Bridge since 2012/2013.

Looking Ahead – International Break

Chelsea now go into the international break with maximum points from his first three Premier League games. It is far too early to look at the table but this 100% start creates a platform for Antonio Conte to work from as the season gets serious moving into autumn.

September will see the first real challenges to the new Conte era with games against Liverpool, Arsenal and Leicester.

There is a long road to be travelled but as fans we could not be happier to see Chelsea winning again.

Will Chelsea's Good Form Last

Will Chelsea’s Good Form Last?

By Chelsea AnalysisNo Comments

There is an air of optimism around Stamford Bridge at the moment and we are all wondering will Chelsea’s good form last.

Three games and three wins from two competitions has got Chelsea fans feeling optimistic. This has been aided by the way we have won the two Premier League games.

Scoring late goals to win games adds something extra special to a win and we are in a Conte honeymoon period.

Reason For Optimism

Antonio Conte has come in and shown the fire and passion that energises fans and brought a positive culture to the team.

On the pitch, things are improving as well. Eden Hazard has remembered that he is a world class footballer. Moody Diego Costa is on fire and we have a new striker that knows how to find the net.

Our main signing so far N’Golo Kante looks like he has been playing at the heart of our midfield for years.

The defence still needs work but there is still a little time left in the transfer window to give the manager the resources he needs.

The defence still needs work but there is still a little time left in the transfer window to give the manager the resources he needs.

Will Chelsea’s Good Form Last?

Next up is a home tie against newly promoted Burnley, a real opportunity to keep the positive momentum going.

However, the Premier League is as unpredictable as ever and nothing can be taken for granted. Fans should be cautious as Chelsea are on the cusp of a recovery and Burnley have shown some pedigree by beating Liverpool convincingly last weekend.

Even so, the odds on Smartbets are in favour of Chelsea with the bookies strongly backing Antonio Conte’s men to keep their winning streak going into the international break.

With Conte in charge there might be slightly few looking to bet against the Blues in the coming weeks and months.

Evening Kick Offs Create Stunning Pictures Of Stamford Bridge

By Chelsea NewsNo Comments

Pictures of Stamford Bridge almost always look stunning.

Having played two evening games so far this season fans have been treated to seeing the summer sun set over Stamford Bridge twice in the month of August

This has created some beautiful images of the stadium we would like to share with you, thanks to everyone on Twitter for sending them in.

Credit Bristol Rovers the League One side that pushed a reasonably strong Chelsea side to the edge.

Coming from 2-0 down to trail just 3-2 going into the last 30 minutes they gave Chelsea’s back-up players a real run for their money. Forcing Antonio Conte to bring on the big guns to secure the result.

Why Credit Bristol Rovers

It can be easy to patronise Football League teams when they bow out against Premier League opposition with flowery language about a ‘brave battle’. This time though that is not the case when we credit Bristol Rovers for a cracking game.

They showed they have a good side and we hope that they will go on to have a positive season.

This was a cup tie that had it all for Chelsea fans, neutrals and the 4,000 travelling Bristol Rovers fans that made the long trip to London.

Playing Youth & A Competitive Game

The finish may have been uncomfortable but with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ola Aina getting game time there was a brief indication that they are considered part of the squad even if only on a rotation basis.

Loftus-Cheek looked strong and has two assists, whereas Ola Aina had a mixed game but that is expected from time to time as a young talent develops.

Victor Moses continues to show that he has a role to play this season whilst Michy Batshuayi built on his strong start. He spurned early chances but his brace makes Chelsea fans hopeful he can have a big role to play in the rest of the season.

A tough game is exactly what our backup players needed to keep them sharp and show Antonio Conte their hunger. Despite the downbeat attitude to the lack of signings, we look to have quality back up across the pitch.

A few new signings would not go amiss if they are better than what we have, but we took another positive step.

Chelsea EFL Cup Journey Starts

Chelsea EFL Cup – Posh Name For The League Cup

By Chelsea NewsOne Comment

The Chelsea EFL Cup experience gets underway tomorrow as the Blues start their domestic cup competitions early due to a lack of European competition.

The EFL Cup or English Football League Cup is the new name for the League Cup which apparently no longer has enough glamour to attract a sponsor. You may recognise it under previous names as the Worthington Cup, the Carling Cup, The Capital One Cup or for the truly retro the Milk Cup.

The competition is not to be confused with the EFL Trophy which Chelsea will be entering an u23 side as part of a revamp.

Chelsea EFL Cup success is not that distant of a memory. We last won the competition when it was known as the Capital One Cup back in the spring of 2015. A simpler time when everything was going right for Jose Mourinho in his second spell.

Chelsea EFL Cup Embarassment

This is the first time in around 20 years that we have had the ignominy of entering the competition at this stage.

Hopefully, this means that Antonio Conte will take a laid back attitude to the game and play a team balanced to the needs in the Premier League. as he fine tunes the squad in an attempt to finish in a position that avoids this

After all, where we finish in the league can avoid the embarrassment of having to enter the competition in August altogether next year.

EFL CUP Second Round

This negative attitude to playing in the second round of the competition is of no disrespect to our first opponents Bristol City who will visit Stamford Bridge. Hopefully, there will be a decent crowd despite the lack of glamour attached to the tie and we will give the League One team a decent game.

Chelsea EFL Cup journey starts early this year, whatever you think of the competition it is a chance at silverware that after last season should not be sniffed at.
